Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that PlayStation Plus pricing will continue to see adjustments, meaning there might be a price increase to the PlayStation Plus subscription, due to more players upgrading to the Extra and Premium tiers. CEO Hideaki Nishino shared in a recent Sony business segment meeting that 38% of subscribers now choose higher tiers.
In FY22, the percentage of PS Plus subscribers on Premium and Extra was 17% and 13%, respectively. By FY24, that had grown to 22% and 16%, totaling 38%. Sony notes that this is even after a global price increase, where in September of 2023, yearly prices went up by 35% in some regions.
