Nova Esports has claimed the championship title of the first MY Honor of Kings League (MKL) Spring Season 2025 after beating Black Shrew Esport (BSE) in an exciting final match that went all the way to 4-3.
The championship game was a nail-biter that showed off both teams’ skills and smart gameplay, proving why they’re among Malaysia’s top esports teams. With the regular match tied at 3-3, everything came down to the Ultimate Battle format to decide the winner.
For those unfamiliar with Ultimate Battle, it’s a special tie-breaker mode where all heroes are available for Blind Pick selection. Both teams can even pick the same heroes (called mirror matchups), side selection is decided by a coin flip, and each team gets three minutes to choose their heroes.

Nova Esports didn’t just walk away with the trophy – they also earned a hefty cash prize of $15,100 and secured their spot at the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025. As runners-up, Black Shrew Esport took home $12,500 and also qualified for the world championship. Third-place finishers All Gamers Global received $9,200 plus their own KWC 2025 ticket.

Individual awards were also handed out during the finals. Nova’s Xuan was named Finals MVP and received an extra $1,000 for his excellent performance and calm leadership that helped guide his team to victory. This win adds to Nova Esports’ growing list of achievements, building on their previous success at the S3 Invitational in Manila. Their strong showing in MKL Spring Season 2025 confirms their status as a major force in Honor of Kings esports, and fans are already looking forward to seeing them compete at KWC 2025.
